Hey C J I just got off the phone with one of your squadron shipmates
I was reviewing some old messages posted in 2006.on this board. I saw one of your posts about you serving in ron 19 and 23 on the 242 boat. I immediately phoned my friend from QM school, who was in ron 19 and 23, asking him if he knew you. He did not. He was on the 243 boat.
Perhaps you may remember him. He is a tall lanky southern boy from Florida. His skipper was Tom Dalton.

Perchance do you remember him?

Russ: No I did not know the QM on the 243. I do recall that Mr. Dalton was skipper. Our skipper was Alpine McLane, Exec. Bill Raney who later was skipper of the 244. As you know we did not have the opportunity to meet many guys outside our own crew. So I knew very few of the other boat crew members.

C.J. I understand that there wasn't much time to get to socialize woth members of the other boats.
But just for some information, his name is Ed Rice. At present he lives in Belle Glade, Florida. At the time of service he was from Pahokee, FL.
He stayed in the reserve for a while and became a LT.JG. Presently he still has all his marles, but his hands shake so much that he could hardly write, so he doesn't get on the computer. If you want to chat with him and maybe discuss some old experiences, I could give you his phone number. I know that he would be happy to hear from you. Just a thought

Russ: Give me the phone number of Ed Rice and I will give him a call. We can reminisce over our time spent together in Ron 19 and 23. My e-mail is randocjw@aol.com.
