This video is the 1945 (? War Bond Drive ?) trip of PT boats up the Hudson river. It is an edited version (to keep the files size down) removing about 6-7 minutes of site-seeing type video. This version is about 10 minutes long and I'm sure It will take a while to download and view - so be paitent. Like most videos there is full screen button in the lower right side "Play Bar" but at this size the video can be considerably blury.

Please enjoy,
Dick . . .

PS: Don't adjust your audio - there is none - moving pictures only.

Hey Dick,
Great Video! I just wanted to point out to the modelers out there the color of the torpedo warheads is yellow because they are training torpedoes with non explosive warheads. Real explosive warheads would not be YELLOW. Remember this trip was a "Goodwill" trip after the war ended and was meant to show the flag and they probably did not want to have the boats actually carring warshot torpedoes. Jerry

Great shots, I know almost every location in that fil. A lot of it has not changed much since 1945. The view of the river looking south just after they passed the Bear Mountain Bridge is right behind my house. I am actually looking at it as I type this.

Fantastic! keep em coming!

I love it Dick. I have that same tape on DVD and seeing it again just makes me enjoy it even more. One thing I noticed was there was seven boats. I had thought there was six, guess I need glasses. Thanks for sharing this with the guys...........

Dick, Would you have any video of the boats passing West Point?

I would be very much interested in the "site seeing" portion of the film. This is literally right in my backyard

Dick;
I love watching this video, I just wish it was a little sharper. This is the same way we used to go through the Panama Canal in our boats from 1991-1998 when I was down there.
Thanks again,
TED

Dick;
I noticed if you look at the officer's reefer jacket in one of the shots, the back of his jacket reads MTB RON 4 PT 139, but 139 never made this trip, I guess they grabbed anyone who wanted to go.
Take care,
TED

Really neat film. I also realized that the first 1:30 is shot at Melville.
