Hello All,
I have a question for you.
I've been asked about the situation with the restoration project being done on the eighty foot Elco PT-486 'someplace' in New Jersey. As of about five years ago, I did know that her owner was planning on restoring her as PT-109. But that's the last I heard anything about the project.
I've been also advised that the owner is none too communicative about the boat or the project and that he RARELY answers letters and emails asking about the boat and the project.
If any of you know anything about this, would you PLEASE email me ASAP at PTConsultingNHR@aol.com with any information - thank you.
Garth

Garth - I keep meaning to make the time to stop in and and take a look at the boat in the Wildwood/Avalon area of the shore. This has been a very busy year for me and weekends are very scarce, so family trips to the shore haven't included me. There's rumor of a Presiden't Weekend trip...If I tag along, I might get some info for you (and everyone else here!)
Tom ( a member here on the board ) has photos of her from her sightseeing days - maybe he could post them here?

TGC: I have sent you two current photos of PT 486. Pay no attention to the date, it is incorrect. Cheers

Hi Garth,
I have talked to the new owner by phone a couple of times & the 486 is still out of the water w/restoration continuing as of the fall of 2008. It's been a slow process and I understand he's working alone but, he is making progress.
He is changing her over to look like the 109 but that's about all the info. I have at this time.
Her refit is being done in Wildwood Crest NJ. I went out on her a couple years before she was sold for this refit & it was a GREAT trip. I do have some photo's of her as a sightseeing boat above & below decks.
Hope this helps.
Take Care & a Happy & Healthy New Year to everyone.

Hi Garth, This is a follow-up note to my last post.
I found the owner to be very nice & quite informative about his project when we last talked.
As far as e-mails are concerned, there are a lot of folks that have no interest in computers and I believe this to be the case.
Hopefully he'll get her back in the water in 09. He really wants to get her there and, it would be better on the boat & he's aware of that.
Take Care
Tom
