Hi there.

I am still working on my rebuild of my Lindberg 1/32 scale PT boat and my new ongoing Lindberg PT boat. Health issues have slowed down my building considerably but I am glad I am able to work on them at all.

Regarding the bench seats in the cockpit/bridge area of the ealy war 80' Elco boats. Were these seats painted the same green as the rest of the boat? Or were they varnished/painted brown?

Thanks again from PeterTareBuilder

Did some quick checks on your question from 2 Skippers I know. Both related to me that they were the same color as the boat and not a wood finish. Hope this helps your build. Sorry to hear about your health issues. Hope your feeling better...................

Hi Frank.

That was very nice of you to check for me. I was thinking about using a dark natural wood colour just to dress up the bridge area a bit. I guess I'll leave the seats green as they are already painted the same green colour as the rest of the model hull and deck. It will make things a bit simpler.

Cheers from PeterTareBuilder

Hey PTB,

I certainly won't contradict the PT skippers Frank checked with, but as a matter of interest, the new 1/35th scale Italeri PT 596 appears to have wood-grain strips on the tops of the cockpit bench seats and the step on the rear of the cockpit armor.

I saw these features clearly in some close-up photos of a build-up of the kit, somewhere on the internet.

Maybe the late-war boats had wooden-strip-topped bench seats/steps?
