Hello Alyce and Alyson if you read this message board. Today I rode my bicycle eighty three miles to celebrate my eighty third year. I ended with an extra one-tenth mile. I need to brush up on my navigation skills to prevent overshooting my target. For next year I may turn the 84 around and ride 48 miles.
This message may turn up twice. For some reason my first attempt to post was unsuccessful. |

That's outstanding Earl. I ride as well and I know that's quite a trek. Congratulations!

QM; How long did it take you to ride 83 miles? I ride too and when I ride 83 miles it usually takes me most of the day.

Gary: My performance yesterday was so bad that I am reluctant to answer. My computer registered a rolling time of 8:46:40 for an average speed of 9.4 mph. The wind was not cooperating. Outbound for about eighteen miles the wind was about 120 degrees on my left side. That helped a little. For the remainder the wind was about 90 degrees on my left. Returning the wind was about sixty degrees on my right side for about eighteen miles, and it was about ninety degrees for the remaining miles. Wind speed was twenty with stronger gusts. I am a fairly slow rider, but I can usually average eleven and twelve mph in hills on a long ride. I was not in hills yesterday. I trust that this is not too much of a diversion from PT's. |
