Hi there David.
What fun I could have with those life jackets. Can you clarify some thing for me? Are all of the items on the dayroom roof separate or are they molded in one combined piece like many of the old Verlinden products were?
Wil there be a US distributor for this?
About how much would one be?
I remember buiybg Verlinden things to use the individual items only to discover I had to very carefully cut them off a combined items set.
Cheers from PeterTareBuilder

That is one big piece of resin casting. I actually think that particular piece would work best in a diormama and maybe not on the boat itself. Just a thought.
U-Models is a French company and cottage industry. He only has three distributors and they are all in Europe. Of the three I think Blast Models is about the best and easiest to work with.

Peter,
I agree about those life jackets, (by the way they were Blue not Yellow! These are Kapok, not Mae Wests!) Hey Dick! since when does a 5 gallon Jerry can hold 10 gallons of gas? Just wondering, Jerry

Hi again and thanks David.
It is really too bad it is one casting as it would be very difficult if not impossible to separate the three life jackets with out damaging one of them. I am thinking about the two side-by-side ones when I say that.
Ah well, it looked good. Now if the lifr jackets were separate pieces I'd still be interested but seeing as they're not I no am interested in getting them. I do wonder what the cost of this piece is though?

Would you believe me if I said only my number 10 key on my keyboard worked - - Or more realistically I probably had one of those annoying brain farts while typing.

Why not just paint a bull's eye on that Jerry Can full of 100 octain fuel. Set it on the Day Room and see of the Japs can hit it. Oh, I se there's water in that Can, well that's a horse of a differnt color...........

Guys;
The flag is wrong as is the gas can, but if I had this I would just take some white glue and water, a piece of tissue paper and make a new tarp over it, covering the possible flag detail and the jerry can too. the paint and weather it, Then paint those kapoks a faded blue or gray and it would look perfect then. I really like those Blast figures, I am already thinking of a RON 29 diorama for the 1/35th scale Italiari Model, why doesn't somebody build a 1/35th scale Higgins, so i can really make it look authentic! I guess I can always scratchbuild one like i did with my 1/72nd scale Bastia Diorama.
Take care,
TED

Oh my goodness gracious, a Frenchman showing disrespect for the U.S. flag??? What is this world coming to. Just kidding, he probably didn't mean to insult. At least the stars look like the right quantity.
I hit my teens in the late 60's, even then I was disgusted at the U.S. flag clothes that some wore. Especially pants. It just didn't seem right. And I probably would have taken a swing if I saw someone having the gall to burn a flag as some felt the need to.
I'm a bit confused Dick. I can't find my number ten key. I think my keyboard may be defective.

Yeah, a lot of people miss it, it's just left of the ESC (Escape Key). it can sometimes be a biggggggg reach for the left hand's little finger to hit. Those of use with small hands usually use our right index finger in a reach-over mode.
