I've been lenient lately with the PT Boat modeling parts being made by several "NEW" members. It appears several are more intent on pushing product then the discussion of PT boats. To that end, I will start removing some post because it is getting out of hand. I'm sure the senior / long time modeler members have enjoyed the products being sent forward. But it is more appropriate for a Modeling or RC forum, which many members also belong to. If you wish to join the discussion of PT Boats and mention what is available to make more detailed models, your welcome. If you have a product that fits PT Boats and PT Boats only then simply set a hyper link and a brief description of the item. The hyper link must be to a "PT Boat" relate store or directory - NOT to a large general 3D-Printed product range including anything and everything you might have ever modeled and now pushing for sale . . . Stores such as Jeff Davidson and Pat Matthews are prime examples of individuals that get deep into PT's and also happen to make some 3D-Printed subjects to help other members out.
This site is about PT Boats not just simply modeling - Please use those modeling forums.

Sorry Dick,
I did not mean to encourage it. The thought never crossed my mind that anybody would post here that was not primarily a PT Boat Guy! It was good of you to point it out before things got out of control.

Dick;
I second your decision. Besides, us "Plankowners" all have each others private emails, so we can talk about stuff that way, not load down the forum with it.. Aside from the advertising angle, most don't realize that with all this added stuff, from an IT standpoint, it also makes your job as webmaster twice as hard, blocking out the international hackers who normally piggyback on links and photos. You have had problems in this area before, and I thank for being our guardian and the protector of this historical site.
Bravo Zulu!

I have thought a long time ago that this site was beginning to switch over to a modeler's site. Now with that in mind, I think those that are making parts for the PT BOATS can certainly benefit the many model people here on the site. I know that my friend Stan Pienkowski certainly has appreciated the parts being made. I feel as long as it is kept to PT BOAT parts being created, it can only be a win win for you guys building the boats. Sorry, I think it is a good thing that discussions originate here and that there are people willing to produce parts that can enhance a model, thus helping those of us that use PT BOAT models for display and or in my case Education...........

Modelers are a medium that can get others interested in PT Boats and thus keeping the history alive by displaying the models in a forum or in public. Would it be possible to add a PT modeler's forum section? Thanks for your time.

Hi.
So sorry about that. Some of the advertishment in this Forum was my fault.
I've tried to make it with all respect to this serious Forums and their users, but not all designers has been so respectful.
I've split my shapeways shop into two to have my PT Boat related parts and US Navy figures clearly separated from the rest of models. All interested fellows can find the link in a late post http://www.ptboatforum.com/cgi-bin/MB2/netboardr.cgi?fid=102&cid=101&tid=4091&pg=1&sc=20&x=0
I check these Forums daily, then i will reply all the requirements for parts from the users or I will put in contact with the appropiate designer if these parts are already done.
Finally, and taking the risk to spam again, I think this would be interesting for future figure or parts orders:
Shapeways Discount
use code FLASH15FDSALE at checkout when make orders in Frosted Ultra Detail or Frosted Extreme Detail to save 15%.
From friday May 20th 2016 to Sunday May 22nd 2016.
Ask me if you have issues applying that.
Thanks and best regards from the sunny Spain.

Hi, I'll throw in my two cents:I think most modellers in this forum are interested in 3DP parts, either for upgrading their kits or-like me-to avoid scratchbuilding just everything on my boat..
However I agree with those feeling that things are getting out of hand, but ban the shapways products from the forum would be exagerated . Just think what people like Jeff D. and Patrick M.-just to name two-have done in this field.
So having a couple of dedicated threads to inform us what is avaliable would be a good compromise in my opinion.
Regards

Like Dick said, keep it PT related.
And that's a good idea regarding designers, one thread with a suitably generic title per designer to announce new parts. There's not that many PT parts designers and I'm slow as mud so wouldn't be posting often. Non-interested people can easily avoid announcements that way.
People that build models beyond the box to make them as accurate as possible impress me. Anyone that has bought my 3DP parts, as well as some parts from other designers, has Dick to thank for them being as accurate as possible.
