Hi there.
I'm thinking about doing some more work on my two Lindberg PT boats in 1/32 scale. I think, that the 40mm on the fore deck was better for offense but can see where the rear deck gun would be a good defense. How many 80' Elco boats mounted the 40mm on the foredeck?
Thanks and cheers from Peter

One, for sure - PT 174. Friedman (US SMALL COMBATANTS) states that OPNAV authorized the conversion of PT 543 and 560-563 to gunboats with a 40mm forward and aft. However, I've never seen any photos of these boats with this configuration. Operational photos of 560-563 in the Med do not show a 40mm forward.

I only have photo evidence of one 80' Elco - PT-174 (as Al states above). Three Higgins that I can find pics for, the 221, 223 & 285.
