[StartQuote] Just to clarify, my non-operational statement refers to this particular kit. In the kit's configuration it was only an Elco company asset, not in it's later operational status with Ron 9 with a stern 20mm mount and the Ron 9 forward turret mounted 20mm. During the tests, it would have flown no Navy Jack, or had a commanding officer, or had a Ron assigned, or recorded an official Navy deck log (only an Elco Naval Division Deck Log). It probably flew the Elco pennant on it's mast during all the tests as well as having the Thunderbolt name painted on the Elco Turret. I also understand the kit does not come with this Thunderbolt decal, so you would need some creative painting in-order to make it an authentic looking model. Elco PT-160 Deck Log from NWC Archives.
