[StartQuote] There seems to be some confussion as to which dock PT 41 left from while carrying MacArthur to safety. Some books claim they left from the South Dock, yet others who were there claim they left from the North dock. While he was alive, I had several conversations with John Balog, who served on PT 41. He claimed they left from the South Dock area. Balog served as Pharmacist Mate at that time. One other crew member who recently died, John Tuggle had told me they left from the North Dock area. I believe the Book They Were Expendable says they left from the North Dock. Just wondering if this is one of those things lost in time....... [EndQuote]
