Lumbari Island from 2008, looking west. Most likely a couple of the coconut trees to the right of the mangroves would have been where they strung the Todd City sign. You can see Aussie Paul on the beach there- be advised don't zoom in too much, as a close-up of him may effect your computer screen (gotcha Paul..lol). To the right on the beach is a 37mm piece along with an anchor just behind it( zoom in) ... note: both the 37mm and anchor were gone during my visits in 2009/2012. On this beach in 1981 were (as I mentioned in another post), the rusting remains of two US jeeps and one US amphibious jeep. Just inland from them laying in the bush was a .50 cal with a bent barrel...all are either gone, or may have been moved because of potential theft. [EndQuote]
