[StartQuote] First time seeing this one, judgeing from the paint scheme and the addition of the number on the hull ( not sure when the practice started) its from later in the war but after Dick Keresey turned over command of the 105 to John Iles Taking close up look it certainly looks like a weapons mount, but it looks to be forward the hatch and almost on top of the towing bit, ok I’m not a Navy guy but I know weapons platforms , to me a fifty that far forward would really be unstable as the deck space narrows, however like you said the pic is blurry , so it’s a guess, but that’s what I like about learning the PT world researching the guess, then building them right.
