[StartQuote] Carlos, Bud and Jerry Tretter took the P520 up to Portland a few years before he passed away. We cruised down the river together and they could barely keep up with us idling on 2 engines. I got to tour their entire boat and was very impressed by the way they had the original electrical switchboard as a "false front" that opened to reveal the modern day electrical panels behind it. The Detroit Diesel 12V71 engines were immaculate and the entire engine room was neat as a pin. Bud actually offered the P520 to our group, because he was becoming unable to continue running it. After considering his offer, we had to turn him down since our group did not have enough resources to be able to split between both the PT658 and the P520, and do justice to either boat. We probably passed up a golden opportunity, but I think we made the right decision at the time. Jerry Gilmartin PT658 Crewman Portland OR[EndQuote]
