[StartQuote] It is with great sadness and a heavy heart ... I have heard of the passing of Pat Rogers RM1c. He was 93. He was the last surviving crew member of my father's PT-154. Pat was in the original crew at the New York Navy Yard - commissioned in November 1942. He earned a Silver Star as an enlisted sailor - a very rare event. Pat with his perfect memory for things that happened 70+ years ago ... helped me understand what my father's time on PT-154 was like and through me helped my father come to terms with the dreadful night of 13-14 Nov 1943. He remembered life aboard his beloved PT boat as if it were yesterday. If it were not for Pat Rogers ... I would never have been born - he saved his boat that November night.
