[StartQuote] All boats that were to have their hulls painted needed to be scrapped first, so they had to come out of the water. Portable dry docks made their way onto the bases making things easier for the base Force. Tenders as you know could lift a boat out of the water. I had always wanted to have a diorama featuring a Tender with several other boats around her, with maybe one boat being lifted, but even at 1/72 scale, the diorama would be pretty large. Putting your boat into a portable dry dock would be nice. It would of course be your choice on how you want to display her. You would have to have it being just painted and completed, or being worked on. In the worked on choice, her bottom would be very dull and you woould need to show it partially painted or in the scrapped mode. [EndQuote]
