[StartQuote] I am an associate member of the Beachjumpers Association and my father trained in Ocracoke, NC in 1944. He spoke many times about the crashboats they used to train on. The local historian of Ocracoke has written many books about the history of WWII on Ocracoke. He has written one book in particular, "Ocracoke Island, Its History and People and the US Coast Guard during World War II" by Earl W. O'Neal, Jr. It is available for purchase from the Ocracoke Island Preservation Society's Museum giftshop. Here is the homepage link to their website. http://www.ocracokepreservation.org/ I hope this might be of some help about Crashboats. [EndQuote]
