[StartQuote] Frank; In my opinion No. MTBRONS was a unit that was "attached" for temporary duty to an amphibious situation, as a "support" unit. Only permanent units were authorized to wear this insignia. For example: my Dad was authorized to wear this as he was an Officer assigned to Beachmaster and Harbor Control Units at Normandy and Beachmaster in the Pacific. On another note, Underwater Demolition Teams were authorized to wear this, but I have yet to see a photo of one guy actually wearing it. Take care, TED [EndQuote]
