[StartQuote] [StartQuote] Hi Peter, Yes it is merely a spring loaded clip that holds the shell in place. Yes it does matter what side the clips are on when feeding the automatic loading mechanism since the loading mechanism will only accept the shells with the clip on the left side. As the shells are fed by the feed pawls, the clip is stripped off and falls through a shute on the left side of the barrel (as seen from the gunners point of view) The spent clips come out right above and behind the shoulder of the guy firing the cannon (the "pointer" ) and fall to the deck. Jerry Gilmartin[EndQuote] Thanks again Jerry. That means an in-action model will need some spent clips too. At least they won't be too hard to approximate. Because the Lindberg kit is 1/32 scale and so was the 40mm Bofors gun I modified from the ancient Revell M-42 Duster kit I'm using the shells from the MiniArt 35073 SOVIET 45-mm SHELLS w/AMMO BOXES set for my 40mm ammo. Cheers from Peter "Give me a fast boat for we want to get out of harm's way too."[EndQuote]
