[StartQuote] Hi "Engineer", Welcome to the discussion Forum. This is a great resource about WW2 PT Boats. I have a question for you, When you say "stationed Miami boat yard ,patrolled Miami to st Lawrence river, then Miami to Mississippi River ,transportation engineer, may have been pt boat 18 fleet of 16. " Not sure what you are asking for, need more details. Was he in the Navy? Was he an Officer or Enlisted? Was he a PT Boater or was he a Civilian "Transportation Engineer". The US Navy has never had any positions called a "Transportation Engineer" that sounds more like an Army Specialty, perhaps he was an Engine Mechanic (called a Motor Machinists Mate) Do you have any more details like his Rank and Rate? What does "PT Boat 18 fleet of 16 " mean? Are you saying he was on PT-18? Or 18th Fleet? Or was in a member of a PT Boat Squadron 18 or Squadron 16? (Referred to as "RON16" or "RON18" We could try to help you locate him but it is hard to help with the limited amount of info you have listed. Thanks Jerry Jerry Gilmartin[EndQuote]
