[StartQuote] Ted, the microfilm was not from Headquarters, they did not have these. I purchased six reels from NARA at just under $100 per reel and I sent them out to be scanned back up to size by a specialized microfilm service, Approximately 3,500 frames Elco 80 & 77. Then Al Ross kindly loaned me 7 reels he had from years back, I also sent these out for scanning, approximately 2,500 frames Elco 70, Higgins as well as others. The quality varies greatly from excellent to very very poor, This is a result from both decredation of the old type of Acetate Based/Diazo process used back in the day and also from horrible microfilming practises by the Navy. All thought the NARA has their microfilm on Polyester Based Silver Halide Film - Polarity Reversing, it was still generated from the time savaged Acetate films. These DVD are sold at HQ's Ship's Store page. Dick . . . . [EndQuote]
