[StartQuote] Thanks Jeff for your link. I guess this question was asked before with no definite conclusion. My sextant is much heavy and complicated than Stanton's grandfather's. It came with two scopes (I think one for day and one for night) It weights a ton and stores in heavy wooden box. I guess it was used on a destroyer or larger ship unless some one can prove otherwise.
