[StartQuote] Frank, The Revell 1/72 Gato is a real beauty straight from the box. There are some after market accessories from Nautilus Models but unless you want to drop 5" guns or back date it to a 3" gun, you don't need anything else. The variations that Nautilus sells does not represent any of the Manitowoc boats. The luber holes are all wrong. But the parts are pretty nice. As Garth eluded to it's a beast of a model. The kit was modeled after the Cobia that was produced by the Manitowoc Boat Company in Wisconsin. The basic hull structure will represent any of those boats. Like most Navy boats every time they brought them into port they were modified. But if you stick with the Manitowoc series your coning tower will be accurate. The following link will show you all the Manitowoc boats built. You can search each individually and find which one you like the best. Do your diorama within the coffee table. Please Frank, don't paint it zebra striped. I beg you. :-) Dave David Waples[EndQuote]
