[StartQuote] Hi Ross Fisher, We seem to have similar experience in book publishing. After 2 years of seeking publishers, In around 1976, I too decided to self-publishing. I designed the cover, each pages, 4 fold out drawings. I name it AMERRICAN PT BOAT IN WW II. 1200 copies were printed by a local printer. With the help of my 8 years old daughter we sold them all in 2 years. That was a lot of boring works. In 1996, as a lark, I sent a copy (79 pages) to Schiffer Publishing Ltd.. They wrote back within 2 weeks and asked me to send them everything I have. They turned it into a 236 pages hard bound volume. Much to my disgust they illiminated the fold out drawings due to cost. The rest is history. When the first printing runs out I hope they will let me add more materials and drawings to the second printing to further enhance the book. Victor Victor K Chun[EndQuote]
