[StartQuote] PT 39, a photo of which appears in Frank's book, is somewhat of an anomaly. Although a first-series (PT 20-44) boat, in this photo and at least one other that was taken during the bond drive parade in NYC, she is fitted with a second-series (PT 45-48, 59-68) streamlined cockpit. I suspect this modification occurred after her return to Melville for training purposes, but have never seen any documentation that addresses this change. Have any of you folks come across any official material on this? Al Ross [EndQuote]
