[StartQuote] I THINK I PROBABLY SPEAK FOR A LOT OF THE READERS OF THIS MESSAGE BOARD WHEN I SAY "THANK YOU" TO THE FOLKS AT "FLEET OBSOLETE" FOR DOING FOR PT BOATS WHAT "JURASSIC PARK" DID FOR DINOSAURS. THE PHOTOS OF PT-48 SHOW THAT IT'S IN WORSE SHAPE THAN MOST OF US IMAGINED. THE UPPER DECKING IS COMPLETELY GONE AND THERE'S SUBSTANCIAL DAMAGE TO THE STARBOARD BOW. I'M GLAD ROBERT IANNUCCI HAS BOTH THE ENTHUSIASM AND THE MONEY TO INVEST IN WHAT APPEARS TO BE 77 FEET OF BAD LUMBER. JUDGING FROM WHAT WAS SPENT TO RESTORE PT-658 UP IN OREGON, THIS LOOKS TO BE ABOUT A MILLION DOLLAR PROJECT. ESPECIALLY IF THEY HOPE TO GET HER UNDERWAY AGAIN. I'D LOVE TO BE DOING IT MYSELF, BUT I JUST DON'T THINK I CAN HIDE AN EXTRA MILLION DOLLARS FROM MY WIFE FOR "HOBBY EXPENSES". ROSS FISHER ross@dupagels.lib.il.us[EndQuote]
